Children's Safehouse Forensic Interview Program

In 1995, this program provides a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation of sexually abused and severely physically abused children. The purpose of this service is to improve the coordination of the various agencies involved in the investigation of child sexual abuse. The interview is video-taped and audio-taped to minimize multiple interviews thus decreasing the traumatic effect on the child. The Children's Safehouse conducts over 150 forensic interviews a year for children who are alleged victims of sexual abuse. Certified by the National Children's Alliance (NCA), in 1999, the Safehouse follows NCA's "Best Practice" standards.
